About Hillsdale Watch
Hillsdale Watch is Hillsdale County's community news site: the place to find out what's going on around here, and to tell your neighbors what you know.
What you'll find here
- The news that shapes your week: sheriff and fire calls, road closures, school board and council decisions.
- The things that make this home: Friday night scores, church suppers, 4-H results, new shops downtown, and the neighbors we've lost.
- The everyday useful stuff: weather, events, game scores and today's lunch specials.
Written with our neighbors
Nobody knows Hillsdale County like the people who live here. So anyone can send us a tip, and members can write a story themselves or just send the facts and let us write it up. When it's published, your name goes on it (or not; that's always your choice), and you earn points and badges along the way.
Churches, schools, clubs, funeral homes and other local groups can join as free Community Partners and share their news under their own name.
Free for everyone
No paywall and no subscriptions. Hillsdale Watch is free to read, free to join, and free for every group and business to share their news.
How we work
A person reads and checks every story before it goes up. We use AI to help a small newsroom cover a whole county, and we're open about exactly how: see How we use AI. When we get something wrong, we fix it and say so: see our corrections policy.
